このたび、札幌市主催「第13回500m美術館賞」の展示作品として決定しました。
学生時代、何度も通ったバスセンターから大通り駅の地下空間に、まさか自分の氷写真を置いていただけるとは夢にも思っていませんでした。思い入れのある空間に自分の作品が展示されるなんて、不思議で感慨深い気持ちです。
今回、現代アートのコンペに初挑戦し、イラストレーターで展示資料を作ったりパワーポイントでスライドを作ったりと、普段あまり経験のなかったことを一気に経験できたのは、自分自身の成長にもつながったと感じています。
作品の言語化も理解しているつもりでも言葉に詰まることが多く、自分の表現を見つめ直す良い機会となりました。
将来的には地上で開催される「さっぽろ雪まつり」の会場でも氷写真を展示し、より多くの人に体験してもらいたい…
そんな野望も抱いています。そのためにも輸送や技術的にも大変ではありますが、必ず成功させたいと思っています。

I am pleased to announce that my work has been selected for the exhibition of the 13th 500m Museum Award, organized by the City of Sapporo.
As a student, I used to pass through the underground passage between Bus Center and Odori Station countless times. I never imagined that one day my own ice photographs would be exhibited in this very space. Seeing my work displayed in a place that holds so many memories for me feels both surreal and deeply meaningful.
This was my first time entering a contemporary art competition. I had the opportunity to experience many things that were new to me, from creating exhibition materials in Illustrator to preparing presentation slides in PowerPoint. I feel that the process became an important opportunity for my own growth as an artist.
Even when I thought I understood the ideas behind my work, I often found myself struggling to put them into words. This experience gave me a valuable opportunity to reconsider and look more closely at my own artistic practice.
In the future, I also dream of exhibiting my ice photographs at the Sapporo Snow Festival, held above ground, and allowing even more people to experience them.
It will present significant challenges in terms of transportation and technical considerations, but it is an ambition I am determined to make a reality.

Ice photographs are, quite literally, perishable works. There is always a possibility that they may melt due to unforeseen circumstances.
Although backup works have been prepared, I recommend visiting the exhibition as early as possible.
I hope you will experience, in person, the photographs inscribed in ice and the passage of time revealed through their gradual transformation.
