上木 大汽 / Taiki Ueki

北海道札幌市出身。写真家、現代アート作家。
日本現代写真家協会（JMPA）所属。

氷の表面に直接写真を印刷する独自技術を開発し、2025年に特許を取得（「氷状対象物への印刷方法」）。
氷は必ず溶け、形を失う存在。その宿命を人間の記憶と重ね合わせ、「消えるからこそ美しい」という感覚を氷写真として突きつける。

氷写真は記録ではない。むしろ「消滅を可視化する装置」である。 また溶けていく過程に立ち会うことは、死と忘却を直視する行為であり、同時に生の輝きをえぐり出す体験でもある。 その探求は写真という枠を破り、現代アートやインスタレーションへと拡張する。

第17回日本現代写真家協会会員展に出展。札幌雪まつりなど公共空間での展示を構想し、氷という儚い物質を武器に新しい表現領域を切り拓いている。

Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Photographer and contemporary artist. Member of the Japan Modern Photographers Association (JMPA).

In 2025, developed and patented a unique technique for printing photographs directly onto the surface of ice (“Method for Printing on Ice-like Objects”). Ice inevitably melts and loses its form—a fate mirrored in human memory. By embracing this transience, the artist presents “ice photography” as a confrontation with the notion that beauty lies in disappearance.

Ice photography is not a means of documentation. Rather, it is a device for visualizing vanishment. To witness the melting process is to face death and oblivion, while simultaneously exposing the brilliance of life. This pursuit transcends the boundaries of photography, expanding into contemporary art and installation.

Exhibited at the 17th JMPA Annual Members Exhibition. Currently envisioning public installations in spaces such as the Sapporo Snow Festival, carving out new expressive territory using ice—a fragile medium that speaks to impermanence and memory.
